KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 11, 2018) – Tonight, Noah Gragson did everything he could to ensure there wouldn’t be a repeat of last week’s Dover heartbreak. After earning his first pole award at Kansas Speedway, Gragson won the first two stages on his way to earning his first win at Kansas Speedway.
“I’ve been dreaming about getting back to Victory Lane,” said Gragson. “My team kept me focused all night and that’s what helped me get the win.”
“This should definitely help his confidence,” said team owner Kyle Busch. For Busch, Gragson’s win was bittersweet – he was happy his race team won, but Busch finished second.
The win has virtually guaranteed Gragson a spot in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoffs, along with Johnny Sauter and Brett Moffitt.
Earlier in the day, Kevin Harvick captured the pole award for tomorrow’s KC Masterpiece 400, with a lap over 188 mph. The pole is his fourth at Kansas Speedway and the 23rd of his career. Ryan Blaney will start second, his fourth Top 10 start at Kansas Speedway. William Byron, who won his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway, will start 13 tomorrow.
Tickets for tomorrow’s KC Masterpiece are available at Ticket Booth B, online at www.kansasspeedway.com or by calling 866.460.7223.
