Skinner wins O'Reilly Auto Parts 250

Through eight races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Kansas Speedway there have been no repeat winners. Race number nine is no exception.

Mike Skinner won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway today. It was his first win at the track. Skinner now leads the overall series standings by 25 points over Ron Hornaday Jr.

“There are just so many people that contribute to this thing at Randy Moss Motorsports,” said Skinner. “We got us one. It’s just really, really cool. We’re just going to keep digging and hopefully we can get another one or two of these things before the year is out.”

The race resumed today on lap 54 after it was suspended on Saturday due to rain, with Skinner in the lead. He led 67 laps total.

Skinner pitted under caution on lap 87, allowing pole winner Ron Hornaday to work his way into the lead position by lap 100. Hornaday led a total of 58 laps, finishing fourth.

Skinner regained the lead on lap 119, holding it through the final caution on lap 132 and the red flag, allowing him to capture his first win of the year. Johnny Benson and Brian Scott finished second and third, respectively.

In four of Skinner’s five races at Kansas Speedway, he has finished in the top five. This is Skinner’s 26th win in 184 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.
