Hairspray's Elijah Kelley Performing National Anthem for Kansas Speedway's Camping World RV 400 presented by Coleman

Kansas Speedway announced today that Elijah Kelley, who had a lead role as "Seaweed J. Stubbs" in the New Line musical "Hairspray!" opposite John Travolta and Queen Latifah, will perform the national anthem at the Camping World RV 400 presented by Coleman NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, September 28.

Kelley, 22, has earned a Critics Choice Award for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture, as well as a SAG Award Nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He has also appeared in the film "Take the Lead," as well as "28 Days," "Heaven's Fall," "Rome and Jewel," and "Fled."

Kelley has also appeared in television and his credits include CBS' "Numb3rs" directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, UPN's "Everybody Hates Chris," FX's "The Shield," HBO's "A Lesson Before Dying" and CBS' "Mama Flora's Family." Most recently Kelley guest starred in ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money."

A native of Lagrange, Georgia, Kelley is currently writing and recording his own album.
