Kansas Speedway® and the NASCAR Foundation Donate to 5 Local Charities

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 18, 2007) – Kansas Speedway and the NASCAR Foundation announced today that they are donating money from NASCAR Day pin sales to five local charities.

“On behalf of Kansas Speedway and the NASCAR Foundation, I want to thank everyone who donated to our NASCAR Day activities,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Because of the generosity of our fans, five Kansas City area charities are receiving funds to help them continue their individual missions.”

The five charities to receive funds were KVC Behavioral HealthCare Inc, the Children’s Museum of Kansas City, Wayside Waifs, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.

Overall, NASCAR Day generated over $1.6 million from fans, corporate sponsors and a NASCAR Day telethon. In September at Kansas Speedway, a check for $500,000 on behalf of the NASCAR Foundation was presented to Kyle and Pattie Petty for the Victory Junction Gang.

Kansas Speedway tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling 866.460.RACE or logging onto www.kansasspeedway.com.
