Kansas Speedway teams up with Westridge Middle School's gifted program for a speaker seminar, Accelerated Learning at Kansas Speedway, on October 26.

The seminar introduces students to a variety of sports-related careers. Speakers with backgrounds in sports will speak with students in 30 to 60 minute sessions throughout the school day. Planned topics include sports architecture, broadcasting, medicine, law, coaching, and the overall business of sports.

Students will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of Kansas Speedway. A session about careers and business in motorsports is also a part of the seminar.

Westridge Middle School is part of the Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park, Kan. The school is for students in 7th and 8th grade. The gifted program is led by teacher Vonda Morris.
