People say the number 13 is unlucky, but for ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver Frank Kimmel being 13 in our countdown is a good thing.
In 2013, Kimmel added to his Kansas Speedway win total becoming the first driver to win four races at the facility. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson each have three wins at Kansas Speedway.
In the inaugural season at Kansas Speedway, Kimmel almost set another record, winning two races in the same day when he won a Winston West Series race and finished second in the ARCA race! And as the Kansas Speedway schedule stands now, it’s a feat that no one will come close to accomplishing again.
Kimmel’s additional wins at Kansas Speedway came in the 2002 and 2006 ARCA races.
Don’t miss any of the moments at Kansas Speedway as racing returns this October with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season finale on Oct. 16, the NASCAR XFINITY Series (Kansas Lottery 300) on Oct. 17, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Hollywood Casino 400, the fifth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup) on Oct. 18, and tickets are currently on sale.
Parking is always free at Kansas Speedway and fans can bring in one 14x14x14-inch soft-sided cooler with their favorite food and beverages.
