GRAMMY AWARD WINNER HEADING TO KANSAS SPEEDWAY
Grammy Award winning record producer, songwriter, record executive and entrepreneur Jim Jonsin (given name James Scheffer) will be bringing his Rebel Rock Racing team to Kansas Speedway Aug. 16-17 for the inaugural GRAND-AM Road Racing events. Jonsin is not only the team owner, he’s one of the drivers for his Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge team.
Jonsin won a Grammy in 2009 for Best Rap Song with Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop”. He was also nominated the same year for production on T.I.’s “Whatever You Like.” Jonsin has also collaborated with Beyoncé, Usher, Kid Cudi, Kayne West among others. Additionally, he has lent his production skills to several other Grammy-nominated songs and albums.
Jonsin started his own record label, Rebel Rock Entertainment, in 2006 and signed then unknown artist B.o.B. B.o.B’s debut album was released in 2010 and ultimately was nominated for several Grammys, along with numerous other awards.
Another Grammy winner will have her eye on the results of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Kansas Speedway. Country music legend and actress Reba McEntire will be following her son, Shelby Blackstock, who competes in the series for Roush Performance. While McEntire is scheduled to be performing out of the country for Blackstock’s Kansas Speedway debut, she will undoubtedly be watching for updates on his race.

Tickets for Aug. 17 are $60 and fans can also purchase paddock (garage) access for $15. Aug. 16 is free general admission access and fans can purchase a paddock (garage) pass for $15.
Tickets for Kansas Speedway’s October races are on sale now, too, by calling 866.460.RACE (7223) or logging onto www.kansasspeedway.com. The Hollywood Casino 400 (the fourth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup) is Oct. 6 and tickets start at $64. The Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race is Oct. 5 and the Kansas Lottery 98.9 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race is Oct. 4. Season ticket holders have access to the Kansas Army National Guard Pre-Race, which features a concert and driver introductions, with their TrackPass.
Parking is always free at Kansas Speedway and fans can bring in one 14x14x14-inch soft-sided cooler with their favorite food and beverages.
