KAHNE IS ABLE
Championship contender Kasey Kahne will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Kahne’s lap time of 191.360 mph shattered the previous qualifying record held by Matt Kenseth at 180.856 mph, set in 2005.
“I feel like they did a really nice job here at Kansas Speedway repaving,” said Kahne, who earned his third pole in 11 races at Kansas Speedway. “It’s going to be tough this weekend but from here out it is going to be one of the best tracks we go to. You can look at it and tell as the track gets some wear into it and some age. I think it will be a lot of fun to race on. It’s smooth and the transitions are really nice.”
Mark Martin will start second followed by Kansas native Clint Bowyer.
