NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race to the Chase Heats Up

With only four races remaining until the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup begins, many teams are desperate for a win to secure a spot in NASCAR’s version of the playoffs. STP 400 winner Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin are currently the lucky holders of the coveted wild card positions, but both drivers need to secure good finishes at the next four races to continue to hold the wild card positions because there are several drivers that can take those wild card positions away. Keselowski will return to his home track of Michigan this weekend continuing to fight through a broken ankle and Hamlin has won two of the last three races at Michigan.

NASCAR Nationwide Series in Montreal

With the Sprint Cup Series in Michigan this weekend, Nationwide Series drivers will only have to compete with one Sprint Cup driver at Montreal, Carl Edwards. However, they will have to contend with Boris Said and the other road course ringers who come out to compete when NASCAR hits a road course.

Danica Patrick Returns to NASCAR

Danica Patrick will return to Nationwide competition this weekend in Montreal to compete for the first time on a road course in a stock car. There is speculation that NASCAR’s top female driver will announce her 2012 plans this coming week. Fans will have the opportunity to see Patrick’s Kansas Speedway Nationwide Series debut in the Kansas Lottery 300 on October 8, 2011.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Points Battle Intensifies With 10 Races Remaining in the 2011 Season

Just 10 races remain to decide who is going to take home the NCWTS championship trophy, and it is shaping up to be a shootout to the finish. Only 23 points separate first from fourth place with 2011 O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 pole winner Austin Dillon leading the standings by one point over Johnny Sauter.

ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Hits the Dirt

After 13 races on pavement in 2011, the ARCA Racing Series will make its first visit to a dirt track this weekend. As the highest major level of stock car racing to compete on dirt, ARCA will again host a feature event at the 159th annual Illinois State Fair. In 48 previous races at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield Ill., the all time laps leader at the facility is ARCA veteran Frank Kimmel, who has led 13 times for 614 laps.
