Kansas Speedway, an Entertainment Experience
Just as the weather is heating up outside, so too are things at Kansas Speedway. The 1,200-acre venue will display its incredible versatility like never before this summer. Whether it’s racing, shopping, music, camping or simply enjoying a relaxing day in the sun, we are sure to have something for you.
Kansas Speedway is less than one month away from its spring race weekend. Saturday, June 4th will feature the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 250. There has yet to be a repeat winner in this race, so the competition will be fierce.
Sunday, June 5th will bring the cars and stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to town for the first ever spring race, the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. Can one of the local competitors, Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards or Jamie McMurray claim win number one at their “home” track? While you’re at the speedway, be sure to visit the corporate display area and stock up on your favorite driver’s, team’s or sponsor’s products and apparel.
For the first time in Kansas Speedway’s 11-year history, the Sprint Cup Series will return once more on Sunday, October 8th. Be sure to catch the action and witness history as Jimmie Johnson pursues his unprecedented sixth championship in a row, or can someone knock him off his throne? The Hollywood 400 at Kansas Speedway is the fourth race in NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup, a 10 race “playoff” to determine the season champion.
Don’t forget to catch Danica Patrick, Travis Pastrana and a host of NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers as they battle it out on Saturday, October 7th in the Kansas Lottery 300.
With all of this great racing, you don’t have to be left out. Race fans looking to experience “life in the fast lane” should visit the speedway to experience stock car thrills of their own. The Richard Petty Driving Experience, Kansas Speedway’s exclusive driving school in 2011, will be here all summer long. Take your pick, ride along with an experienced stock car driver as they navigate the 1.5-mile tri-oval at 155 mph or take the class and drive your own 800 horsepower machine.
