Four Kansas Speedway fans received the surprise of a lifetime this week – a trip to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Banquet on Dec. 3, all courtesy of Kansas Speedway.
“We wanted to reward our fans for their support of Kansas Speedway because the fans make NASCAR what it is,” said Kansas Speedway President Patrick Warren. “We’re excited to be able to bring four fans and their guests to Las Vegas to share in the championship week activities and I look forward to spending some time with them.”
Kansas City, Kan. resident Michael Billion, Altoona, Iowa’s John Blanchard, Wheat Ridge, CO. resident Shirley Wright and Wellington, Kansas’ Nick Struble and their guests will be heading to Las Vegas Dec. 2 -4 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Banquet. Each fan won two tickets to the banquet, airfare, hotel accommodations and $500 in spending money.
“We switched from another track to Kansas because the racing is so much better, and man, am I happy we did,” said Blanchard. “My wife and I just won a once-in-a-lifetime deal, considering you can’t buy those tickets. Now all my NASCAR buddies are jealous.”
In addition to the awards banquet, Billion, Blanchard, Wright, Struble and their guests are invited to a pre-awards ceremony reception and will have the opportunity to walk the red carpet. On Thursday, Dec. 2 after they arrive in Las Vegas, they will attend the NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon, take part in the Coca-Cola Fan Zone, the NASCAR Victory Lap and NASCAR After the Lap, where all Top 12 drivers will participate in a question-and-answer session.
