Former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Mike Skinner will drive the No. 46 for Randy Moss Motorsports in the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which will run at Kansas Speedway on April 25, 2009.
New England Patriots wide receiver, Randy Moss, bought out Morgan Dollar Motorsports in 2007 and is co-owner of Randy Moss Motorsports with David Dollar. Moss was a superstar in the Patriots undefeated 2008 regular season and competed in the 2008 Super Bowl.
Moss and Dollar were quick to ink Skinner, the 1995 truck series champion, and team him with rookie Tayler Malsam. Malsam, a former ARCA driver, will pilot the No. 81, which inherited its number from Moss’ football jersey.
"Mike will be able to help mentor Tayler while going for his second championship all at the same time. It's the perfect combination," Moss said.
Skinner has enjoyed four top-five finishes in five starts at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway, dating from 2005 to 2008.
"Hopefully, between David and myself and Randy, working with really good people, we can get the sponsorship that it takes to be competitive and to continue on with a program that’s been in place since 1996," Skinner said.
