Kansas Speedway Supports State's Tourism Efforts with Track-Side Billboards

Kansas Speedway has provided the state of Kansas two free track-side billboards at the speedway to help promote tourism.  The Kansas Speedway hosts NASCAR and IndyCar Series events to hundreds of thousands of fans at its facility annually with these events being televised to a national audience.  The 20-foot-by-60-foot billboards are prominently located at Turn 2 and are estimated to provide approximately $2 million in annual economic benefit to the state of Kansas.

“We are extremely pleased with the Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board’s decision to award our Hard Rock Hotel & Casino proposal the casino management contract for Wyandotte County,” stated Kansas Speedway President, Jeff Boerger.  “These billboards, which will be seen by millions of people, are just a small part of our commitment we made to the State to provide additional economic benefit to the taxpayers of Kansas.

“We are excited to get these billboards displayed in time for our weekend’s NASCAR events.  We anticipate having a tremendous crowd, in excess of one hundred thousand fans at our speedway each day this weekend, which will be highlighted by the Camping World RV 400 presented by Coleman NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.  It should be noted that a NASCAR Sprint Cup race is viewed on average by over five million households in 2008.”
