The field for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Banquet 400 will be set on Friday, Sept. 29 during O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day at Kansas Speedway.
Tickets are $10 for general admission seats, and $15 for reserved.
"It's great to have NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series qualifying back on Friday," speedway President Jeff Boerger said. "O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day is a great way for race fans to see all their favorite NASCAR drivers tweak their cars on track, and then watch them qualify for Sunday's race."
Matt Kenseth will be going for his second consecutive pedal car that day. Kansas Speedway awards pedal cars to pole winners.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, defending race winner Mark Martin and the rest of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series field try to get pedal cars of their own. The drivers' two-lap qualifying attempts begin at 3:40 p.m. The drivers will attempt get into the Banquet 400 on Oct. 1, the third race in NASCAR's 10-race Chase for the Championship which will eventually decide the series champion.
There's plenty of action all day at Kansas Speedway during O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day. The NEXTEL Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series and USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series drivers will be on track all day, practicing and preparing their cars for the weekend's three races - Saturday's USAC race and the NASCAR Busch Series Yellow 300, and Sunday's Banquet 400.

12:05 - 1:35 p.m. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series practice
1:45 - 2:45 p.m. NASCAR Busch Series practice
3 - 3:30 p.m. NBS rookie practice
3:40 p.m. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying (two laps, all positions)
5:15 p.m. NASCAR Busch Series final practice
6:15 p.m. USAC final practice
