Racing excitement will hit the Screenland Granada Theatre this Friday for the opening of "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."
The new Will Ferrell comedy will be shown in English with Spanish subtitles at 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $8 for adults; and $6 for students, seniors and matinees before 6 p.m.
Moviegoers can experience the thrilling race action first-hand with a chance to win tickets to Kansas Speedway or a ride-along at 160 mph. Fans who attend the movie Friday will also catch a glimpse of a NASCAR stock car on display from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., courtesy of The Racing Experience.
The Screenland Granada theatre is located at 1015 Minnesota Ave. in downtown Kansas City, Kan. The 77-year-old single-screen theatre recently reopened its doors after sitting idle for 20 years. Recent additions include DTS Digital Sound and projection equipment to enhance the historic building and provide a home for newly released films. Films shown at Screenland Granada are shown in English with Spanish subtitles to attract the growing Latino population in the Kansas City area.
Fans can still be a part of the exciting racing at Kansas Speedway by purchasing tickets to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day on Friday, Sept. 29. Drivers from the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series will fight for the top starting position for the Banquet 400 presented by ConAgra Foods.
