Scott Speed snagged a first place finish his first time racing at Kansas Speedway during the ARCA RE/MAX Kansas Lottery $150 Grand.

 

Speed led laps 1 - 14 and took a green flag pit stop to fix a fallen window net. This put him a lap behind. Back in the race Speed got Aaron’s Lucky Dog, passing Jesse Smith on lap 94. Regaining the lead, he stayed in front for the victory.

 

Speed started the day breaking the track qualifying record with Eddie Sharp Racing teammate Ken Butler, who won his first pole award. Breaking records didn’t end there as Speed broke the race record and added a career best finish.

 

Speed wasn’t the only one earning career best finishes. Just behind Speed were Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Jesse Smith who picked up their career best finishes. At what place?

 

Gabi DiCarlo, one of two women racing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Kansas Speedway, grabbed her career best with a ninth place finish.

 

Speed competes tomorrow in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.
